What to Expect with a Cardiology Appointment
Our cardiologists work with each patient at various convenient locations to develop a custom approach to heart health and preventing cardiac diseases. You can expect the following at your appointment:
- Physical exam
- Family medical history review
- Personal medical history review
- Discussion of current medications
- Key heart health measures
- Current diet and lifestyle habit review
- Diagnostic tests, as needed
Using state-of-the-art imaging and a variety of tests to help gauge overall cardiovascular health, we use cardiac computed tomography (CT) calcium scoring to determine coronary artery blockage and treadmill stress test to determine how your heart works during physical stress.
We help both men and women understand their personal risk of heart disease and how they can be proactive about heart health. With a dedicated Women’s Heart Program at Piedmont Heart Institute, we’re changing how women approach long-term heart health and wellness.
