During National Nurses Week, we would like to take this opportunity to recognize Nursing Services employees who have really made a difference at Piedmont Hospital. We are awarding the Excellence in Nursing Award to nurses in leadership roles, inpatient departments and outpatient departments; Nurse Resident of the Year; Nurse Preceptor of the Year; and Clinical Partner of the Year.
Excellence in Nursing Award - This is a nurse serving in the inpatient departments, outpatient departments, and leadership roles (Directors, Managers, CNS, Coordinators and Educators). This should be a nurse who truly practices person-centered caring and serves as a positive role model for professional nursing practice. Nurse Resident of the Year - This is a nurse who has been a resident in the past year. This nurse should be someone who has a willingness to learn, seeks out new opportunities to improve his/her knowledge and skill set, and in turn, helps out their co-workers. Nurse Preceptor of the Year - This is a nurse who steps up to precept new employees. This nurse should be someone who serves as a protector, role model, and an educator for new employees. On the nomination form, describe how this nurse meets the criteria.
Support Nursing Partner of the Year (could be a clinical partner, Monitor tech, Surgical Tech, etc.) - This is a clinical partner who truly practices person-centered caring and serves as a positive team member. On the nomination form, describe how this clinical partner meets the criteria.
