Dementia Education and Support Program
Dementia Workshops
Sixty Plus sponsors workshops throughout the year for families and friends caring for someone with dementia. They are open to anyone in the community but not appropriate for hired in-home or residential facility workers.
The workshops address topics such as:
- Caregiver stress
- Where to go for help
- Understanding the healthcare system
- Legal and financial considerations
- Managing difficult dementia behaviors
Individual and Family Consultations
Clinical social workers at Sixty Plus consult with older adults experiencing memory loss and with their family caregivers who are concerned. Either the older adult or caregiver must use Piedmont Healthcare physicians to qualify for this service. There are no fees involved, but donations are appreciated and are tax-deductible.

Dementia Caregiver Support Groups
Sixty Plus sponsors monthly caregiver support groups. These groups offer emotional support and practical information to family and friends caring for those with memory loss. They are open to anyone in the community. There is no charge for the support groups.
