We are also equipped with a CT scanner in the unit and have access to MRI scanners here at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital to rapidly diagnose and treat our patients.
- Tailored Treatment Plans
Our goal is to work with you on your journey to recovery, helping you regain function and achieve the best possible outcomes. During your stay, you will have access to specialized treatments and therapies, including 24/7 neurosurgery, medications to control seizures or manage brain edema, management of life support devices, and rehabilitation strategies to optimize neurologic recovery.
- Rehabilitation Services
In our neuro ICU, early rehabilitation services are integrated into the care plan to help patients regain function and improve their quality of life after a neurological event or surgery. This could involve physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and consultations from physicians specializing in physical medicine & rehabilitation.
- Family Support and Education
Your comfort, well-being, and progress are our top priorities. We are dedicated to ensuring your stay in our Neuro ICU is as comfortable and beneficial as possible, and we look forward to being a part of your healing and recovery process. Our Neuro ICU provides support and education to the families of patients. This includes updates on the patient's condition, explanations of treatments and procedures, guidance on what to expect, and assistance in making informed decisions regarding the patient's care. There is a case manager assigned to every patient to help families navigate the logistics of selecting an optimal setting after discharge from the hospital. We also have a chaplain who is part of our multidisciplinary team.
In summary, our neuro ICU is a specialized unit dedicated to providing intensive and specialized care for patients with critical neurological conditions. The focus is on monitoring, treating, and supporting patients to optimize outcomes and improve their neurological function and overall well-being.
