At Piedmont Macon Medical Cancer Center, we know what it takes to battle cancer. - Oncology Nurse Navigators to guide patients through the process of services involving cancer treatment.
- Education and counseling

Clinical Research Trials
Clinical trials are research studies designed to evaluate new cancer treatment options, including new drugs, surgical approaches, radiation therapies and combinations of these treatments. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration oversees these clinical trials to ensure federal regulations governing research are followed.

After treatment, you may wonder what is next. We're here to support you every step of the way, including survivorship. If you are a cancer survivor who needs additional support resources, we can help.
Oncology Nurse Navigators
A unique service we offer is access to certified oncology nurses and certified oncology nurse navigators. The nurse navigator serves as your resource, acting as a liaison to enhance the quality and continuity of care and expedite appointments.
The oncology nurse navigators’ services are provided free of charge and include:
- Helping patients and their families understand treatment options and what their diagnosis means
- Assisting patients with accessing appointments and resources in the community
- Providing consultation to physicians and other healthcare providers regarding resources and services available to cancer patients
- Consulting with patients and their families to access and determine personal needs and concerns
- Maintaining communication with cancer patients to check progress through the course of their experience to help assure their needs are being met
- Educating patients about resources available to them
