Piedmont Henry Visitor Information
Care Partner Policy (Updated December 4, 2024)
It is the policy of Piedmont Henry Hospital to encourage family and friends to visit patients during their stay in our hospital. We support the presence of a support person of the patient's choice unless that presence infringes on the rights or safety of others, or it is deemed medically or therapeutically contraindicated at the time. Visiting periods and individuals are based upon patient preference with consideration for privacy, safety and protection of the patient. Appropriate attire including shirt and shoes are required by visitors within the hospital.
Piedmont Henry’s visiting hours are 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., seven days a week.
Piedmont Henry Hospital recommends two designated care partners at a time per patient. Care partners cannot spend the night with patients in semi-private rooms.
An adult must escort children under the age of 15 during visits. All visiting children shall be in the attendance of an adult other than the adult patient. No visiting child(ren) shall remain overnight.
The number of care partners allowed in a patient’s room is subject to change depending on their care needs. The focus has to be on the safety of our patients and staff.
Labor and delivery - Two (2) visitors and a doula, if applicable, may be present in the labor room at a time.
NICU - Visiting hours are 24/7 to encourage families to come to the NICU at their availability for bonding with their infant, more discussion with the medical team and understanding of patient care, to help with interventions known to assist infants and to assist with more timely discharge. Visiting hours may be restricted due to the infant's clinical restrictions, multidisciplinary rounds, during clinical interventions or procedures, or due to an emergency on the unit.
Piedmont encourages the use of electronic devices to communicate with patients who are hospitalized.
