Health Matters in the Community
We offer a variety of wellness programs to individuals and groups in the community. To register for classes, check our calendar. For more information, or to schedule a program for your group, call 706-475-1029.
- CPR & First Aid Certification
Basic first aid and adult, child & infant CPR, AED, and choking rescue. Participants receive a National Safety Council two-year certification card for both First Aid and CPR-AED. For lay rescuers (does not meet need for health care providers or nursing students).
- Courage to Quit (Nicotine Cessation)
Free, four-session program to support you in stopping nicotine use for good. Virtual classes and individual phone or in-person options available.
- School Programs
Handwashing, nutrition and hands-only CPR classes for elementary school classes.
- Speakers Bureau
Specific topics to address documented needs of the community and put our mission and core values in practice. Free for civic and church organizations.
- Super Sitter Class
Three-hour class for 12- to 15-year-old babysitters to learn about babysitting as a business, child behavior, first aid and safety.
- Blood Pressure Check
Free screening to test for pre-hypertension and high blood pressure at civic or church health events. Includes interpretation of results and recommendations for follow-up and habits for better health.
