Caring for You While Hospitalized
Our hospitalists – full-time, in-hospital physicians – work at the request of your personal physician to coordinate your care during your hospital stay and to ensure a seamless transition upon your release. Our hospitalist physicians are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Upon admission to the hospital, the hospitalist works with your primary care physician to obtain your medical records and important information about your medical condition. If you would like to speak with one of the hospitalists while you or a member of your family is in the hospital, it is best to ask the nurse caring for you to page the doctor.
When you’re ready to be discharged, your hospitalist and primary care physician will discuss further treatment options, medications and follow-up. The hospitalists team will send your primary care physician a discharge summary of your hospitalization. You should visit your primary care doctor as instructed upon discharge from the hospital.
