Piedmont Augusta Visitor Information
Care Partner Policy
Inpatient visitation is from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
NOTE: Please DO NOT VISIT if you have any of the following symptoms:
- Fever
- Cough
- Runny nose
- Shortness of breath
All Visitors:
- MUST BE 13 or older.
- MUST WASH your hand thoroughly or use hand sanitizer immediately before and after seeing patients.
- DO NOT touch your face or the faces of patients.
Inpatient
FOUR visitors per day during regular visiting hours. ONE visitor is allowed to stay overnight (7:00 p.m.-9:00 a.m.) per patient, excluding ICU patients.
Women's Center
- Labor & Delivery
ONE support person is allowed with Labor & Delivery and C/section patients in addition to FOUR visitors per day that may stay until after delivery, then they will follow regular visiting hours from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please note the following:
- The support person may stay with the patient at all times, but during delivery, only the support person and one visitor are allowed; all other visitors must go to the waiting room.
- Exceptions to this policy will be made at the discretion of the Nurse Manager and the Director of the Women’s Center.
- Post-Partum and GYN
FOUR visitors per day during regular visiting hours of 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Note, siblings of any age may visit during normal visiting hours after delivery, and will not be included in the count of the four visitors limit per day)
- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit: Two parents and four grandparents are allowed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit from 8-9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. and 8-10 p.m. No more than two people can be at the baby’s bedside at a time. Names of grandparents allowed to visit must be supplied by the parents to the patient care staff.
NOTE: Overnight visitors MUST stay in the patient's room for the duration of the visitor's stay.
Visitation in Other Areas of the Hospital
- Outpatient/Surgeries and Procedures
Two visitors are allowed per outpatient being seen for surgery or a procedure throughout the length of the outpatient visit.
- Emergency Department
Two visitors are allowed per patient throughout the length of the ED visit. Inpatient visitation applies if outpatients or emergency department patients are admitted to the hospital.
- End Of Life
Four visitors; others allowed on a case-by-case basis per the patient’s physician.
- Visitation with COVID-positive patients (inpatient or ED) is allowed with masking and other protective equipment as required.
PLEASE NOTE: For patients with cognitive or communicative disabilities or issues, a support person will be allowed to accompany the patient throughout their stay, whether inpatient or outpatient, according to the qualifiers outlined by the Office for Civil Rights.
