Health benefits of oregano

Oregano may taste great on pizza, but did you know it’s also good for your health? This powerful little herb is packed with vitamins A, C, E and K. Oregano also contains beta-caryophyllin, which fights inflammation, and rosmarinic acid, which is a strong antioxidant.

If you are looking for a great way to use oregano, try this recipe from Chef Nancy Waldeck of Cancer Wellness at Piedmont.

How to make homemade tomato sauce

In a pot, add olive oil, chopped carrots, chopped red peppers and chopped red onions. Next, add a few tablespoons of dried oregano.

Sauté the ingredients until they are well combined, then add a few cans of tomatoes and a bit of chopped garlic. You will end up with a beautiful, delicious tomato sauce.
