Hamilton, Ga. (May 4, 2024)— Arrrgh Matey — Safe Kids Columbus hosted its annual River Savvy Kids event, presented by Piedmont Columbus Regional on May 4 at the Blanton Creek Campground.
Safe Kids wanted kids to learn important river safety information and leave with a new, individually-fitted life jacket. A total of 61 children ages 17 and under, who were accompanied by an adult, visited all the safety stations, they received a free life jacket (while sizes and supplies lasted). The event was pirate themed, and some children (and even some adults) came dressed so they could visit the treasure chest to reap their rewards.
Safe Kids Columbus event partners such as Academy Sports + Outdoors, Georgia Power, Kiwanis Club of Columbus, Salt Life, Lake Harding Association, 1827 Real Estate, and Department of Natural Resources were the keys to the treasure.
