Fayetteville, Ga. (January 10, 2024) – Piedmont Fayette Hospital has grown exponentially since opening with 54 beds in 1997. While the campus footprint grew over the years – the hospital is now licensed for 310 beds – parking has occasionally been an issue for patients and visitors. This month, work will begin to address this problem. Piedmont Fayette is adding 488 parking spaces in the area to the northwest of the West Entrance and The Cole Family Plaza.

“Allowing our patients and visitors to park closer to the building is a safety issue, as well as one of good customer service,” said Steve Porter, CEO of Piedmont Fayette. “It is our hope that this makes coming to the hospital a little easier.”

In addition to the spaces, the hospital is connecting the new parking lot via an access road to Veterans Parkway. This will share access with Georgia Military College. This should help traffic flow during some of the busier times on campus. A small parking lot near the pedestrian bridge over Ga. Highway 54 will be paved and accessible as well.

Construction is expected to last until early May, but hospital leaders are hopeful the new parking area can open even sooner than that.

Currently there are 2,038 total parking spaces on the Piedmont Fayette campus.
