The multidisciplinary teams at Piedmont Physicians Medical Oncology specialize in the diagnosis and management of patients with primary or metastatic cancer or hematology issues.

Dr. Olugbile, who joined Piedmont on Oct. 21, has participated in several research studies, including during his time as an assistant professor at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center. There he provided care for lung cancer patients and carried out research focused on developing predictive biomarkers for immune checkpoint inhibitors using next-generation T cell receptor sequencing and single cell sequencing.

Dr. Vishnubhotla, M.D., is a medical oncologist with more than two decades of experience with expertise in breast cancer, hematologic malignancies, and antibody-drug conjugates and will join Piedmont Oncology on Nov. 4. Her clinical research has resulted in her co-authoring 14 peer reviewed articles on various cancer topics.

“We are thrilled with the recruitment of these two exceptional oncologists as a major step in expanding the Piedmont Oncology physician team,” said Walter J. (Wally) Curran Jr., M.D., Chief, Piedmont Oncology. “We will continue to add smart and resourceful physicians like these who explore every opportunity for every patient.”

Dr. Olugbile is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology and has been in practice for more than 20 years. He cares for patients with lung, head/neck, esophageal, gastric, skin, prostate, bladder, kidney, sarcoma or other rare cancers, with special interests in precision medicine (targeted therapy), immuno-oncology (immunotherapy), bispecific antibodies, and cellular therapy.

Prior to joining Piedmont, he was an assistant clinical professor at the University of Connecticut and practiced oncology in the Hartford HealthCare System. He received his medical degree from the College of Medicine at the University of Lagos in Nigeria and completed a residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut.

Dr. Vishnubhotla earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), an international undergraduate medical degree, from Madras Medical College in India and completed an internal medicine residency at the Sinai-Grace Hospital in Michigan.

Dr. Olugbile practices out of Piedmont Physicians Medical Oncology Atlanta, located in the Piedmont West building on Howell Mill Road. Dr. Vishnubhotla will work out of Piedmont Rockdale Hospital, Piedmont West, and Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.
