Stockbridge, Ga. (October 25, 2023) – Patients who receive outpatient care from the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center team at Piedmont Henry Hospital will no longer have to go inside the hospital for their care. The department has moved to a standalone building on campus located at 150 Eagle Spring Ct., Suite B. The new location has ample parking and spacious, well-appointed rooms for expansion. Currently, there are four active care rooms, but two more rooms are expected to open soon. The hyperbaric center has two chambers in place right now, with space for two more to be added as well. The staff members are also excited about the addition of another provider, bringing the total to three, in the coming months.
“It’s very exciting to be in this new space,” said Wound Care Manager Samantha Lane. Our team is thrilled with the new accessible environment, which provides extra space, storage, and comfort for our patients.
In addition to all of the new rooms, patients can expect shorter wait times, larger seating areas, and automatic doors that make navigating throughout the building much easier.
The department made the move from the second floor of the hospital to the space down the hill from the emergency department in the middle of October. It was an undertaking that required an incredible amount of skill and patience from staff and the contractors helping with the move. There are still a few finishing touches being made, but the difference is notable and appreciated by everyone who sets foot in the building.
“We have really focused on providing a safe, high-quality experience for our patients and their caregivers,” said Lane.
The easiest way for patients to get to the new location is to take a right off of Rock Quarry Rd. onto Eagle Spring Ct. and then take the first right. While the phone number for scheduling remains 678.604.1061, the new fax number is 678.609.0455. Their office hours remain Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Inpatient wound care hasn’t changed. There are three inpatient wound care clinicians, as well as a full-time and part-time patient care technician.
