Piedmont Eastside’s Commitment to Nurses for National Nurses Week

Snellville, Ga (May. 10, 2022) – National Nurses Week is celebrated May 6 through 12, and it’s a time to celebrate the effort, dedication, and sacrifice nurses make every day. Without the dedication of these highly trained professionals, Piedmont Eastside would not be able to offer the top-tier care that it provides to its patients on a daily basis.

“Being a nurse and frontline worker is more than just administering medicine and caring for a patient, which we do on a daily basis,” said Larry Ebert, CEO of Piedmont Eastside. “It takes dedication, compassion, and knowing how to connect with someone on a personal level to create the best atmosphere for trust and care. Piedmont is committed to making a positive difference in every life we touch, and our nurses make that difference to our patients.”

The end of National Nurses Week will coincide with the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing on May 12. Nurses of all types fill an essential role in healthcare, ensuring patient comfort and continuity of care on a daily basis. The nurses at Piedmont are one of the driving forces behind its success as a hospital.

Recently, Nurses Week was recognized publicly by the Board of Commissioners in Gwinnett County. The chairwoman, Nicole Love Hendrickson, said, “For generations, and most notably, over the last few years, these brave caregivers have placed so much on the line, even their own health, to help others overcome health complications. While we may never be able to repay you for your remarkable acts of service and countless hours, on behalf of the entire community, I want to say thank you. I’d like to encourage everyone to send extra love and compassion to the nurses who work around the clock to offer the best care possible.”

“We know being in the hospital at times is not a joyous occasion, but we hope when you come to us, you know you’re being cared for as one of our own family members,” said Kevin Dalrymple, interim CNO at Eastside. “Each and every nurse at Eastside is dedicated to being a life-long learner, having a positive attitude, and fulfilling the Piedmont Promise to every patient.”
