Columbus, Ga. (May 4, 2024)— Strokes happen in the brain, and there was a LARGE one in west Georgia to show people how. Piedmont Columbus Regional’s Community Outreach and Interventional Radiology teams hosted a "Walk in the Brain" event. The free event was held on May 4, and featured a giant inflatable brain that visitors could walk through and see what a stroke looks like and learn how they occur.
There was also educational giveaways and handouts at the event as well as team members available to answer general questions about stroke and treatment capabilities.
The take-home message is that strokes happen in the brain, and you should BE FAST in receiving timely treatment at a full-service stroke facility like Piedmont Columbus Regional's Midtown Campus and numerous other Piedmont facilities.
