Expect Patient Education Every Step of the Way
It is important to our entire team that patients and loved ones feel confident in their cardiovascular care. At Piedmont Heart Institute, we help you understand every step through patient education. With helpful information through our Living Real Change articles, diagnostic imaging information or what to expect videos that show you what your procedure will involve, we’re here to answer questions and teach you how to get healthy and stay healthy.
We provide helpful information such as our heart surgery guide and have Patient Coordinators at Samsky Advanced Heart Failure Center and a Patient Navigator at Marcus Heart Valve Center to answer questions. These specially trained cardiac clinicians provide education and support, helpful information about hospital services or community resources and serve as a link between you and your healthcare team.
What to Expect Video Series
Our team has prepared several educational videos to better understand what to expect if you or a loved one is scheduled for heart surgery at Piedmont. Learn more about your heart surgery procedure and how to manage care after you go home.
For our heart failure patients, we help patients understand more about Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD) - a surgical option for treating advanced heart failure. We also provide a series of helpful videos to learn more about living with a LVAD after your procedure.
