Emergency Medicine GME Conference Schedule

This series focuses on core emergency medicine topics and subjects related to the ACGME core competencies, including ambulatory topics and allied specialty topics such as Neurology, Orthopedics, Toxicology-Wilderness, office Gynecology, and others. The conferences are presented by select faculty with expertise in the areas covered.

  • Medical Grand Rounds are held once a month. Faculty and guest speakers discuss a broad range of subjects from clinical practice.
  • Morbidity and Mortality Improvement Conferences are held twice a month. Topics are reviewed in a case-based format with invited faculty.
  • Journal Club Conferences are held once a month.
  • Quality Improvement and Safety Conferences are held at least 8 times per year.
  • Resident Lectures are held once a month in the second part of the year.
  • “Unknown Case” Conference is held twice a month.
  • ICU Teaching Conferences are held at least once a week.
  • Board Review Conference is a week and includes all 3 years. Our philosophy is that residents should stay up with board review from day one and we facilitate this goal.
  • Resident as Teachers Series include 3-year staffing of residents in the didactic series, board review and education seminar in the outpatient environment.
  • Business of Medicine Lectures cover practical and relevant management skills for residency and beyond.
