Care for COVID-19 and beyond.
What we’d like you to know as we navigate the latest phase of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The professionals at Piedmont Healthcare are committed to the health and well-being of the communities we serve. We truly want nothing more than to devote ourselves to caring for every patient. However, fighting the COVID variants has put extraordinary pressure on every hospital and practitioner in our system. So we’re asking you to keep a few things in mind:
Go to an emergency department or emergency room only if you have life-threatening symptoms, such as:
- Significant or worrisome cough that is increasing
- Shortness of breath while at rest
- Low oxygen levels
- Extreme sleepiness or inability to wake
- Dry cough, fever, breathing getting more difficult
- Confusion or sudden change in mental status
- Chest pain
- Blue face or lips
- High fever that is unable to be controlled with medication
- Severe and prolonged headache not responding to medication
If you have mild COVID-19 symptoms, or you have recently been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID, per the CDC guidelines, you should wear a high-quality mask for the next 10 days, but you do not need to be isolated. You should get tested on Day 5. You can get a COVID test at any Piedmont Urgent Care or QuickCare location by appointment only. Look here for the one closest to you.
Please do NOT visit an emergency room or emergency department for COVID testing.
If you test positive, you may be able to manage your symptoms at home with these tips. We also encourage you to communicate with your doctor's office through Piedmont MyChart if you have any questions or concerns. (If you don’t yet have a Piedmont MyChart account, create one here).
For other non-emergent issues, such as appointment scheduling or prescription refills, contact your doctor's office through Piedmont MyChart.
We thank you for being patient with our staff members as we manage your care with limited resources.
