Monroe, Ga. (April 25, 2025) – Piedmont Walton has added a new, state-of-the-art CT (computed tomography) scanner to the hospital’s imaging department, expanding access for patients in need of advanced imaging procedures. The new CT scanner will significantly improve physicians’ ability to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions with greater accuracy and speed. This addition ensures that patients receive timely and precise diagnostic services, reducing wait times and enhancing overall patient care.
“We’re excited to bring this leading-edge technology to Piedmont Walton and the community,” said Rose Dennis, executive director of Patient Services at Piedmont Walton Hospital. “Adding a second CT scanner supports our goals of offering the highest standard of care for patients close to home.”
The Siemens SOMATOM Pro. Pulse is a dual-source scanner that uses two sources of X-rays placed at 90-degree angles to one another, offering higher-resolution images while using less radiation.
"Adding a second CT scanner to our imaging department is a game-changer for our hospital and the community," explained Joey Vira, director of Imaging Services at Piedmont Walton. "This addition brings new technology that allows us to provide faster, more accurate diagnoses, ultimately improving patient outcomes and satisfaction."
