Cartersville, Ga. (April 3, 2025) – Cartersville Elementary School (CES) has once again shown the incredible impact of community spirit and compassion through its fourth annual "Kids Helping Kids" campaign, proudly sponsored by Piedmont Cartersville. This year, the initiative raised an astounding $23,816.84 to benefit Advocates for Children, an organization dedicated to providing essential services to children and families affected by abuse and neglect across 11 Northwest Georgia counties. Their programs offer safety, comfort, and hope, aiming to reduce the incidence of child abuse.
The campaign not only encourages fourth and fifth graders to raise funds but also educates them about child abuse prevention, instilling valuable lessons in empathy and social responsibility. The excitement was palpable as students eagerly participated, knowing that their efforts would directly support their peers.
Led by dedicated teachers AJ Wilson and Natalie Carr, along with members of the National Elementary Honor Society, the campaign saw remarkable success. In less than two weeks, the students and teachers alone raised nearly $19,000, showcasing their commitment and generosity.
On April 1, Piedmont Cartersville representatives Kasie Anders, Leah Marshall, Takisa Dallas, Valerie Wagner, and Ginger Tyra joined the celebration at CES. They meticulously counted individual donation packets, sorted prizes, and cheered on the students during a festive parade, marking the culmination of this heartwarming effort.
Lori Rakes, CEO of Piedmont Cartersville, expressed her pride in the initiative: "We are incredibly proud to support Cartersville Elementary School's 'Kids Helping Kids' campaign. This effort not only raises crucial funds for Advocates for Children but also teaches our young students the importance of empathy and community involvement.
